In our front yard, many of our garden statues, newly painted by Jim, stand bright and strong protecting and guiding us. We covered all the dirt and grass with Apache red rock, planted cactus and filled with gratitude and joy, began our new lives as desert dwellers. Life was not without excitement, Susie and Mr. Jiggs (nee Raggs) were quite surprized to encounter the biggest, ugliest lizard she ever saw! IN THE BEDROOM. Thinking of Brother Jeff, I ever so gingerly picked the monster up and placed it in the outside planter. Then retreating to safety, I looked it up. This ugly fellow is even know to BITE when disturbed! Well, he didn't bite me, just froze for a bit. So many people loved the painted garden statues, that we have decided to sell them, see our arts and crafts page, and be sure to recheck, we put new photos up regularly.

Our House is all lit up for Christmas. Not an easy picture to take though. We have cactus with lights, Guadalupe with lights, and bushes and fences, posts and porch all lit . Our neighbor, Mr. Cantu, has a jump on Jim. He has lived in his home for forty years! Susie and Mr.Cantu admiring the lights at 2243 E. 18th St. Cantu house in the background. Other wonderful neighbors include Gloria and Betty to our east, the neighbors who shared the wonderful red tamales with the green olive in them (click here to hear an excerpt from Jim's song about neighbors), These two ladies are great friends, and even Hoodini takes to them, sometimes going over for "overnighters!" On the west, Joyce, is just about as good a neighbor as a person could wish for. Thinking of us, and giving well used advice, Joyce is the one who steered Susie to Oasis where she takes watercolor classes... with real artists. Both an inhibiting and enhancing experience.

Our "traveling" cat, Hoodini. Coming to Tucson seems to have instilled new life into this old guy! He picks his laps and neighbors, traveling east to Gloria and Betty's almost daily.
Smitty, Lil, Peaches (nee Manuela) and Mr. Jiggs also adjusted well to city living. Susie and Jim have to catch and return home Lil and Peaches or they follow us on our daily walks with Smitty and Mr. Jiggs. Mr. Jiggs is becoming a personal trainer, leading Susie up mountains and trails after Smitty and Jim! Our odd fellows household seems to be doing very well as we share and get to know each other and our new digs. More pictures are coming soon, this website will be in continual production! To our old friends, new friends and family friends, we miss those we left behind, love seeing those who come to visit, and enjoy every minute with you all whether by email, phone, snail mail or in person! |
